What are boarding schools in London?
Firstly, boarding schools are schools with accommodation and meals. They are attended by children either from abroad or local, whose parents prefer the school environment for the child instead of home living.
Boarding schools in London are, for a number of reasons, more expensive than those outside London, but often better academically and in terms of accommodation and food.

The main area of our activity is to help you find private boarding schools in London. As well as to apply to the boarding school, even if you found one by yourself. We may help you to submit the application, but more important to have a discount of tuition fees.
How much our fees?
Our service is advisory. And we help you with a search of a school which is the best for your child. Most of our advises are free of charge, and this is because boarding schools in London pay commission to educational companies, like us.
Greater London Schools
There are only 11 boarding schools in London, who are independent, and accept international students. All of them are below in our list, and sorted from most central location to further down.
As you can see the half of them are for boys only and another half are mixed. There is no one boarding school for girls only in London.
Please, beware most of the websites in internet show you schools not in London, but nearby. The greater London only includes 12 boarding schools. And not all of them have accommodation within the school building itself.
Westminster School
- Established: 1560
- Boys: 13 and 16 years old
- Girls: only 16 years old
- Enrolment: 650+

Westminster School is divided by two schools:
- Westminster Under School (7 – 13 years old), where are no boarding options available, and
- The Great School (13 – 18 years old) where boarding options are available.
And, please do not mix these two schools with Westminster Abbey Choir School, which is a completely separate school despite the similar name and next door location. The Westminster Abbey Choir School is a boarding school, but only for children who are keen in singing. And, this school is for UK residents only.
In our subjective opinion, Westminster School is the most comprehensive school in London and in the UK after Eton. So, please, before even think about it, have a look the feeder schools table in HERE.
You can only apply to Westminster School if your child is 13 or 16 years old. You cannot apply when the child is 14, 15, 17 and 18 years old.
The school is just two steps from Big Ben, which makes it the most central from all boarding schools in London.

Abbey DLD
- Established: 2015

- Enrolment: 350+
This college is the newest from all boarding schools in London. And, its location is just next to London Eye. You can live and study in the same building, and this building is super modern and comfortable.

Royal Ballet School

Royal Ballet School is divided by tree locations:
- White Lodge, Richmond Park (11 to 16 years old) — MAP
- Upper School in Covent Garden (16 to 19 years old) — MAP
- Upper School in Pimlico (16 to 19 years old) — MAP
As you can see from the name of this school, this is only one from all boarding schools in London where you will be admitted only based on your talent in dance. But it does not mean you will not be studied a curriculum at all. The academic programme for the school is superb too.
